Where are you going?
That is a question we all should ask ourselves periodically to make sure we are on the right track. I am in the Interdisciplinary Arts and Science program studying at the University of Washington in Tacoma. If all goes according to plan, I will graduate debt free with a Bachelors degree in Communication and a minor in Business Administration by december 2010. I will continue to pursue music both within and outside of my family. I am earnest to find the calling God has for me and am constantly challenged to find His purpose each and every day as I continue live by His grace.
What do you listen to most often?
I listen to a very wide variety of music as you will see. For bands: Death Cab for Cutie, Alison Kraus and Union Station, John Mayer, Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, Crooked Still, Tim O’Brien, Coldplay, Postal Service, U2, Band of Skulls, Roman Holliday, and the list goes on.
What is your favorite instrument to play?
Very hard question! In the last two years I have come to love the bass, particularly the electric bass. Part of my reasoning is it is a powerful and key part of all music, the bass register. Bass is powerful when present, and it can be equally powerful when it is silent. Naturally when I listen to music what I feel and hear most often aligns with what the bass is doing.
Why do musicians drive wagons?
Function, pure and simple, they work! Musicians have gear, they have band members, they have roadies, they have friends and groupies, they have merchandise, they have stuff. Musicians usually don’t need to race, or drive off-road, but they do need to haul stuff in a convenient and safe manner. Although there are some stereotypes floating around about soccer moms and wagons, but those are both false and soccer is cool anyway. Done and done!
If you could do anything at this exact moment, what would it be?
I would want to be driving my sister's Vino scooter down in California. There is a beautiful stretch of road that winds up a valley between Brea and Chino Hills, near where Dustin Leigh and Luke live in Fullerton.
Do you smoke tatoos?
...No.
